34. Secret Modern Tendency

Secretions are glands that secrete fluid.

Before starting this topic, I thought about what kind of secret would interest me really for real, but I haven't come up with anything exhilarating. The world is so saturated with revelations that my imagination fades at the word "secret."

We, as a society, are in a downward spiral of awe at the great revelations and sensations. I imagine a skier skiing down a snowy slope: the arrowy wind of information garbage tickles his rosy cheeks, yet he's infinitely happy with his own high-speed glide. He's oblivious to everything and everyone in the News hotbed and just enjoying his soaring experience.

We’ve been bombarded with breathtaking disclosures day after day for many years, and we no longer get excited when someone tries to feed us their "shocking" comestibles.
Nowadays, you have to be at least a groundbreaking comet like Atlas to seriously attract public attention for a few weeks: everybody is busy with their own lives.
Fortunately, true opportunities for self-realization have become accessible to everyone, and career advancement no longer requires slandering contenders. Conversely, a failure to keep one's mouth shut when necessary can ruin any career: companies want reliable partners. All sites include a privacy agreement and a data protection policy that we must accept if we decide to be socially active.

Now, if you find something wrong in your environment, you should judge and correct the phenomenon, not the people: that's the path to a promotion. And if you have a conflict with someone, it must be resolved personally or with professional help in the most graceful way possible. This requires a great deal of patience and an understanding of the true ultimate goal of every sensible individual: to emerge from the situation as honorably as possible for the sake of one's future well-being.

In my experience, the overriding desire to impress people is the root cause of becoming a Big Mouth: that’s self-abasement – get rid of this harmful character trait, unless, of course, you’re planning to become a comedian.

Comedians perform for a large audience to earn some money – people laugh at themselves, and everyone is happy. So, it's perfectly reasonable to consider whether the tormenting info you are about to blurt out will benefit or harm your personal progress. So, pain or gain?
To answer this question correctly, understand in which plane of Cartesian coordinates your audience is located: positively above, below, or oppositely above, below? Where you put your energy is where you will end up.

If you don't care to impress people, then you are good at keeping secrets.

Stay cool, you all, life won't end tomorrow.

A secret doesn't necessarily mean hiding the absolute truth, but rather concealing the private activity of a close circle that does not concern outsiders.

Secrets are secrets because they are fluid and susceptible to external pressure, personal interpretation, bias, superstition, and presumptions. Don't have them, unless they smell good. As future technologies develop, you will thank me for this advice.

How can you avoid feeling the need to share secrets? By working on your energy. If you don't feel sad, you won't need compassion. When you don't need compassion, pity, or sympathy, you don't care to impress others. Otherwise, do impress them, why not?

When you wake up in the morning, mentally tune into a peaceful vibration, stay with your loved ones, observe the rules of decency, and carefully consider small steps towards your desirable direction. Don't create difficulties for yourself when there aren't any. We must reconsider our tendency to interpret words and silences as conflicting. Everyone has their motivation, and vocabulary borrowed from others. Nightmares aren't always prophetic. The first thing we need to be sure of is that we are not our own enemies from within.

Happy people are busy people: they have no time for backbiting.

If you're a secret gym addict, there are two ways to get rid of this confidential and torturous info: overcome the addiction, stop training (no sweat, no secret), or have the addiction drawn on your body (everyone can see you're an athlete). Learn to live with this shame for the rest of your life and even after. After all, in our society, tolerance towards any kind of addiction is actively practiced.
A secret to the championship is working out: that's the basic principle. You work on every secret until the result is obvious, and there's no need to keep it secret.

Sometimes people keep secrets to stay out of harm's way until they achieve success. Success doesn’t come to sluggards: people work hard for it. What’s more important, obvious productivity and positive impact, or rumors? For those who do nothing, gossip is much more appealing than work.
Work ennobles a person, and therefore, it’s more important if we don’t want to turn back into apes.

However, everything becomes solid and permanent only when signed and sealed.

A transaction, or lack thereof, makes a deal appear clearer for others. But not every privileged person can hear this quiet, private conversation, let alone us mere mortals. Money transfer is like telepathy between two loving hearts.

People keep secrets only if they are competitive. Which means when you are not their adversary, you won't care. But being non-competitive at the moment doesn’t mean you won’t become a dynamic individual in the future.

A competitive person may appear to be an opaque fraud with suspicious intentions. And while he obfuscates the situation for some trifling reason, everything about him may seem mysterious and therefore hostile. Any secrecy is perceived as a deliberate, potentially dangerous activity. It takes time to sort out this entire dark realm. So, try to keep your secrets as private as possible, and keep your gym receipts confidential, just as you wouldn't announce to everyone that your stomach is bloated. Or you can practice transparent competition: look at me and see how cool I am, and try to be better than me, I want you to win, too!

The truth is usually as boring as grammar.

Oh, this annoying need to use literacy to achieve one’s goals, to understand all the instructions. What the hell are all these documents for? What do these phrases really mean? Do we need to fill out all these forms? Eek.

Neglecting consistency in making informed decisions based solely on reliable information leads to gullibility, making detailed truth less important to the general public that lacks patience and is constantly distracted by every absurdity in sight.

Those who claim to be lovers of truth should also display undeniable devotion to grammar and letters. What do you know about the truth if you skip commas in your sentences? The sentences are confusing without punctuation. Truth and secrets emerge through a skull-sweat, which requires silence and solitude. That is why they normally belong in science. So, logically, if you love secrets, you should become a scientist. Why not?

If you have a poor understanding of the world around you, you might think that being wide-eyed and loose-lipped onlooker will help you figure out who's who and what the right directions are in this realm, but soon, you may discover that people are, in a sense, betraying you, when, in reality, they are only mirroring you: they pass your words along to one another and ridicule your openness. Traitors!

That’s not the right way to get your bearings.

"Who am I trying to impress?! And why? If it's not for my personal well-being, I won't bother to impress anyone anymore. And if I ever need to impress someone, perhaps I should try my highly professional perspective, which I developed throughout my training and honing my skills. Hindsight is precious, but this episode is already ruined. Let's start a new life on Monday."

However, too many "traitors" might indicate a low level of integrity in the room: people are expected to fulfill their responsibilities (not sharing premature opinions), and they don't. General disappointment is natural in this case because people want stability and clarity to better predict and organize their near future.

Therefore, the task is to increase our integrity by meeting reasonable expectations, playing our role according to the rules, and being patient. Everything will become clear, sooner or later. Let's trust science. You don't need to be the most venturesome player in the new game. Take your time and then take your well-deserved spot.
